Isn't this the same sand lamp I've seen for $20?

How does the sand move?
Turn or flip the frame and the sand falls through the glass, forming new landscapes each time. There's a small pocket of air sealed inside the glass on purpose — it's what keeps the sand drifting slowly instead of dropping all at once. That air gap is normal, not a defect.
Does the charging base get warm?
A little warmth while it's wirelessly charging is completely normal — that's true of any wireless charger. It cools down when charging stops.
Does it need to be plugged in?
It has a rechargeable battery, so you can use the light and the sand cordless for hours. The wireless charging feature draws power through the USB connection, so keep it plugged in when you want to charge your phone.
